32-year-old lawyer named as victim in Winnipeg’s 20th homicide

Winnipeg police have named the victim in the city’s 20th homicide of 2019.

Justin Silicz, 32, was the victim of a Sunday morning assault near Arlington Street and Notre Dame Avenue.

Friends of the victim confirmed to Global News that Silicz was a local lawyer.

The law office where he is believed to have worked had no comment, and a relative has asked that the family’s privacy be respected during this time.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition on Sunday and later died of his injuries, said police.
