A five-year-old child has died after falling into a backyard pool in Montreal’s Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough Monday.
Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture told Global News the boy was at a friend’s house when he fell into the in-ground pool.

His 10-year-old brother dove into help, but also had to be rescued. Neighbours performed CPR on the children.
The five-year-old was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
His brother suffered serious injuries, but is in stable condition.
The pool has been closed since the winter. A coroner’s investigation is underway.
