OSHAWA, Ont. – A man from Pickering, Ont., is facing numerous charges after he sped away from police early Friday.
Officers in Oshawa, Ont., were trying to pull a motorist over for weaving in and out of the lanes.
They say the driver refused to stop and instead sped onto Highway 401.
Police gave up their chase but deployed a helicopter to keep an eye on the vehicle.
In east Toronto, the driver stopped and ran off, leaving two passengers behind.
A 24-year-old suspect was soon arrested and charged with fleeing police, racing, driving while suspended and a drug offence.
