Peterborough man arrested in connection with rash of business break-ins

A Peterborough man is facing several charges following recent break-ins at area businesses.

Peterborough police say on Feb. 9, a witness claimed a man selected items from a shelf in a store on Charlotte Street and left without paying for the merchandise. Police investigated and identified a suspect.

On Monday, police located the suspect in the Charlotte Street area and arrested him.

Police say he was in possession of several items that had been reported stolen during break and enters at businesses between Feb. 16 and 18.

Police allege he was also in possession of property reported stolen from a construction officer trailer on Bonnacord Street in late January.

Trevor Roderick Kotzma, 23, of Murray Street, is charged with theft under $5,000; four counts of break and enter; and five counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

He was held in custody and appeared in court on Tuesday.
