Two women arrested for alleged assault of a man in Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Police say two women have been arrested after an alleged assault in Thunder Bay, Ont.

Thunder Bay police say officers were in the area when they saw the women allegedly assaulting a man underneath an overpass on Saturday afternoon.

Officers intervened leading to a struggle, however both women were arrested with the help of a bystander.

Police say the victim lost consciousness and sustained facial injuries during the attack, and his injuries may have been more serious if officers didn’t witness the assault.

It’s not clear what led to the alleged assault or whether the victim knew the two women.

Police say the two Thunder Bay suspects, aged 24 and 28, have been charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm and obstructing a peace officer.
