QMJHL Roundup: Friday, February 15, 2019

VAL-D’OR, Que. – Jimmy Huntington had three goals and an assist and Dmitry Zavgorodniy added two goals and a helper as the Rimouski Oceanic defeated the Val-d’Or Foreurs 7-4 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Olivier Garneau and D’Artagnan Joly also scored while Alexis Lafreniere tacked on three assists for the Oceanic (37-15-3).

Nicolas Ouellet, Alexandre Couture, Marshall Lessard and David Noel supplied the offence for the Foreurs (19-32-5).

Tristan Berube made 22 saves for the win as Mathieu Marquis stopped 38-of-44 shots in a losing cause.

Rimouski went 3 for 8 on the power play while Val-d’Or was 2 for 6 with the man advantage.

WILDCATS 8 SEA DOGS 1

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Jakob Pelletier had a pair of goals as Moncton toppled the Sea Dogs for its fourth win in a row.

Alexander Khovanov, Gabriel Sylvestre, Jeremy McKenna, Dylan Seitz, Brady Pataki and Mika Cyr also scored for the Wildcats (30-18-7).

Filip Prikryl had the lone goal for Saint John (12-40-4), losers of four straight.

MOOSEHEADS 7 OLYMPIQUES 2

HALIFAX — Raphael Lavoie had two goals and two assists as the Mooseheads beat Gatineau.

Samuel Asselin, Antoine Morand, Jared McIsaac, Samuel Dube and Jake Ryczek rounded out the attack for Halifax (40-12-3).

Giordano Finoro scored both goals for the Olympiques (20-30-5).

PHOENIX 4 CATARACTES 1

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Nathael Roy potted the winner at 15:32 of the third as the Phoenix downed Shawinigan.

Olivier Crete-Belzile, Alex-Olivier Voyer and Benjamin Tardif also scored for Sherbooke (32-21-2).

Jeremy Martin found the back of the net for the Cataractes (14-37-4).

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Maxime Comtois scored twice as Drummondville got past the Tigres to improve to 7-0-1 in its last eight contests.

Joseph Veleno and Pierre-Olivier Joseph also scored for the Voltigeurs (42-10-2).

Anthony Poulin put Victoriaville (23-29-4) on the scoresheet.

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Artemi Kniazev struck at 4:08 of overtime to lift the Sagueneens over Quebec.

Samuel L’Italien, Jordan Martel, Ivan Chekhovich, Nathan Legare and Pascal Corbeil rounded out the Baie-Comeau (39-13-3) offence.

William Champagne had a pair of goals for the Titan (7-44-3), who got singles from Evan MacKinnon and Anderson MacDonald.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Kevin Mandolese only had to make 18 saves as Cape Breton blanked the Armada.

Mitchell Balmas, Isiah Campbell, Olivier Bourret and Egor Sokolov scored for the Screaming Eagles (33-16-5).

Olivier Adam turned aside 34 shots for Blainville-Boisbriand (19-34-2).
