6 arrested in pair of drug busts in Cambridge: police

Six people were arrested and cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl and meth were also seized over the weekend in a pair of drug busts in Cambridge.

On Friday, police conducted an investigation at a home on Church Street South where they say they found three ounces of suspected cocaine, .8g of suspected crack cocaine and .35g of suspected fentanyl with an approximate street value of $9,000.

A 34-year-old Cambridge woman and a 30-year-old Cambridge man were arrested and charged with several offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say the man attempted to flee the scene but officers tracked him down and found an expandable baton nearby. He was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

A day later, police executed a warrant at a home and at a hotel in Cambridge where they arrested three men and a woman from Cambridge.

Police say they found fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine with an estimated street value of $7,000.

The four people who were arrested were charged with trafficking and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
