Toronto firefighters say two people were injured in an early morning fire at a Parkdale rooming house Saturday.
Capt. David Eckerman told Global News that emergency crews were called just after 2 a.m. for reports of a fire at a home on Temple Avenue, which is in the area of Dufferin and King streets.
When crews arrived on the scene, flames and smoke were seen coming from the three-storey home.
Authorities deemed it a two-alarm fire, and the flames were put out just before 3 a.m.
No adjoining buildings were damaged in the blaze.
One person was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, and a firefighter complaining of dizziness was also brought to hospital, Eckerman said.
Six people are now displaced as a result of the fire, and Red Cross has been notified.
Fire crews are investigating the cause.
