Man charged after taxi driver reportedly robbed in Innisfil: police

A man was arrested in connection with a robbery investigation in Innisfil, police say.

According to South Simcoe police, on Tuesday at around 8 p.m., officers received a report of a robbery in the Innisfil Beach Road and 20th Sideroad area.

Police say a taxi driver told officers he had been robbed by a man who fled the scene.

Officers say following an investigation, on Wednesday, a 25-year-old man from Innisfil was arrested and charged with robbery, uttering threats and breach of probation.

According to police, he was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
