The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) issued a flood warning for those on the Grand River in Cambridge, Brantford on Tuesday, and some mesmerizing video has emerged which shows why.
Monday’s brief warm spell, combined with a dose of rain, created ice jams along the river.

Video, captured by Jennifer Tigerlilly, shows the ice flows rushing rapidly along the river near Cambridge Mill and at other locations in and around the city as well.
The GRCA has lifted a good portion of the flood warnings but there are still some remaining downstream, south of Brantford, as of Wednesday afternoon.
The agency warns that “flows are forecast to peak through Cayuga on Wednesday evening and through Dunnville and Port Maitland early Thursday morning.”
Grand River flows peaked in Brantford on Tuesday evening, and in Caledonia on Wednesday afternoon.
The GRCA says that there was some flooding reported in Six Nations Territory in Brant County.
