KELOWNA, B.C. – Bowen Byram scored the game-winning goal on a power play at 14:00 of the third period as the Vancouver Giants beat the Kelowna Rockets 2-1 on Saturday to extend their win streak to eight games in Western Hockey League play.
Dallas Hines also scored for the Giants (31-12-2).
Nolan Foote had the lone goal for the Rockets (19-24-4).
Trent Miner turned away 18 shots for Vancouver. Roman Basran blocked 37 shots for Kelowna.
The Rockets were scoreless in three power-play chances. The Giants went 1 for 2 with the man advantage.
BRONCOS 5 BLADES 4 (OT)
SASKATOON — Joona Kiviniemi scored on the power play at 4:56 of overtime as Swift Current edged Saskatoon and snapped a four-game losing streak.
Tanner Nagel had two goals in regulation to pace the Broncos (10-34-3), while Ethan O’Rourke and Owen Blocker rounded out the scoring. Gary Haden, Dawson Davidson, Eric Florchuk and Cyle McNabb answered for the Blades (29-13-7), who had won three straight coming into the game.
Riley Lamb denied 48 shots for Swift Current. Dorrin Luding turned away 19 shots for Saskatoon.

BRANDON, Man. — Ben McCartney and Stelio Mattheos scored in the shootout and Ethan Kruger shut the door as Brandon downed Regina.
Connor Gutenberg and Cole Reinhardt had goals in regulation for the Wheat Kings (20-19-6). Kyle Walker supplied the offence for the Pats (13-33-3).
Kruger turned away 31 shots for Brandon. Dean McNabb stopped 26 shots for Regina.

RED DEER, Alta. — Brandon Hagel scored twice as Red Deer dumped Prince George.
Arshdeep Bains, Cameron Hausinger and Brett Davis also got on the scoresheet for the Rebels (28-15-3). Josh Curtis had the lone goal for the Cougars (16-26-5).
Ethan Anders turned away 26 shots for Red Deer. Isaiah DiLaura kicked out 29 shots for Prince George.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Seth Jarvis scored on a penalty shot at 2:19 of overtime as Portland topped Seattle.
Lane Gilliss and Robbie Fromm-Delorme rounded out the scoring for the Winterhawks (29-13-5). Simon Kubicek and Matthew Wedman provided the offence for the Thunderbirds (17-22-6).
Joel Hofer turned aside 21 shots for Portland. Cole Schwebius kicked out 38 shots for Seattle.

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Justin Almeida scored twice and added an assist as Moose Jaw toppled Medicine Hat.
Brayden Tracey also got on the scoresheet for the Warriors (27-11-8). Baxter Anderson had the only goal for the Tigers (27-17-4).

Dylan Ferguson kicked out 33 shots for Kamloops. Brock Gould turned aside 30 shots for Victoria.

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Kyle Olson had a goal and an assist as Tri-City Americans defeated Spokane to snap a two-game losing skid.
Riley Sawchuk and Sasha Mutala provided the rest of the offence for the Americans (25-18-3). Adam Beckman found the back of the net for the Chiefs (24-17-5).
Beck Warm blocked 47 shots for Tri-City. Bailey Brkin denied 28 shots for Spokane.

EVERETT, Wash. — Zack Andrusiak scored a hat trick and added an assist as Everett thumped Lethbridge.
Bryce Kindopp added a pair of goals, while Artyom Minulin, Connor Dewar, Reece Vitelli and Gianni Fairbrother also scored for the Silvertips (35-12-2). Justin Hall scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes (25-14-8).
Dustin Wolf turned aside 25 shots for Everett. Bryan Thomson combined with Bryan Thomson for 42 saves for Lethbridge.
The Hurricanes’ Scott Mahovlich and the Silvertips’ Dawson Butt were both given game misconducts for fighting at 14:11 of the second period.
