Police had erected a large large security perimeter around a gas station near the Fairview Pointe-Claire Mall after reports of a suspicious package.
A police spokesperson told Global News that they received a call around 12:30 pm advising that a suspicious package had been discovered at the Esso Station on Boulevard Saint-Jean in Pointe-Claire.
The bomb squad was deployed and an investigation, which used robotic devices, revealed that the package was not a bomb.
Although the nearby Fairview Pointe-Claire Mall was not evacuated, shoppers were not allowed to enter the mall.
