Rutland isn’t the biggest high school in the Okanagan. However, when it comes to football, it’s head and shoulders above the rest.
The Voodoos are off to an amazing start this high school football season. Following a win against the Eric Hamber Griffins Friday night in Kelowna, Rutland has a perfect 4-0 record with a stunning set of statistics.
Rutland has scored 166 points, an average of 41.5 points a game, while only surrendering 49 points, an average of 12.3 points a game to garner top standing in the BC Secondary School Football Association.
Rutland plays in the Pacific Division and is in first place followed by W.J. Mouat (3-1) of Abbotsford and Sardis (2-1) of Chilliwack. Eric Hamber is in a five-way tie for fourth through eighth, with Sullivan Heights (0-3) of Surrey in ninth and last.
In Eastern Conference action, Kelowna (0-2) lost to Abbotsford (1-1) and Mount Boucherie (0-2) was beat out by Mission (2-0) at the Apple Bowl.
