RCMP in Surrey are trying to figure out exactly what happened to a teenage boy who was found seriously hurt on a road just after four this morning.

A passer-by spotted the 18-year-old on 84th Avenue near 157-A Street.

He was taken to hospital where he’s now recovering.

Police found evidence at the scene that suggested the teenager was hit by a vehicle and they’re now investigating, but they need help from the public to find more answers.

“We have the entire scene locked down at this point, and we are going to look for any and all evidence that might point us in the right direction,” says RCMP regional duty officer Inspector Tim Shields. “But what would break this open would be that we get a tip from the public that leads us to the identity of the person who would know exactly what happened.”
