ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – A 19-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a Newfoundland police officer.

Police in St. John’s say officers were called to a club on George Street just before 3 a.m.

They say the woman became aggressive towards police and started shouting, swearing and spitting.

The woman was charged with causing a disturbance and assaulting a police officer.

No one was injured.
