Two people injured after pleasure boats collide near Halfmoon Bay

Two pleasure boats collided off Halfmoon Bay on the Sunshine Coast this morning.

The rescue coordination centre says two 22 foot long pleasure boats collided around 11:20 a.m. this morning.

They both made it into the bay on their own accord where emergency crews offered help.

Seven people were on the boats at the time of the crash, with two of them receiving non-life threatening injuries.

An eighteen-month-old child was airlifted to BC Children’s Hospital, while the mother was taken to a local hospital.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
