7 adults face 24 charges in crackdown on downtown London drug trafficking

London police are releasing the results of a four-day crackdown on drug trafficking in the downtown core, prompted by community concerns.

The project took place between Aug. 7 and Aug. 10 and police say in total, six men and one woman were charged. One of the men charged was actually arrested three separate times over the four days, including twice in the same day.

Police seized the following:

  • 17.8 grams of methamphetamine
  • 25 8-milligram hydromorphine pills
  • 7 12-milligram hydromorphine pills
  • 0.3 grams of fentanyl
  • 1 100-milligram morphine pill
  • 9 60-milligram morphine pills
  • 3 diazapam pills
  • 2 ritalin pills
  • $528.40 in Canadian currency

While the project has concluded, police note that investigators will continue to address this issue in the downtown core.
