Most hockey players dream of playing in the NHL. And most NHL players dream of being on the cover of the world’s most popular hockey video game.
Winnipeg Jets’ forward Patrik Laine is to be featured on this year’s cover of EA Sports’ NHL 19 video game cover — but exclusively in Finland, his home country.
“The Winnipeg Jets’ winger has electrified the league with a shot that’s both powerful and accurate, lighting the lamp with ease from the moment he entered the league,” said EA Sports in a statement.
“Exclusive to Finland, this special cover release celebrates the elite nature of a player destined to win the hearts of a nation. Laine is an avid gamer,” they said.
“Few players strike fear into their opponents quite like Laine does, as his laser-beam shot is unstoppable at times.”
The game will come out for Xbox on Sept. 14 worldwide.
