A car fire in the Massey Tunnel led to traffic delays in Richmond during Tuesday morning’s commute.
A vehicle burst into flames in the Massey Tunnel during rush hour. At one point, the front of the car was completely engulfed in flames.
Smoke could be seen billowing from the north end of the tunnel as fire crews rushed to bring the blaze under control.
The northbound right lane was blocked, leading to traffic delays. Drivers were told to avoid the tunnel and use the Alex Fraser Bridge instead.
The area has since reopened to traffic.
At this point, it’s unclear if anyone was injured.
