Heat causes road in Tecumseh to buckle for third time this year

You know it’s hot when even the road is impacted.

Temperatures over the weekend were in the low 30s. On Sunday, the humidity pushed temperatures to 39 C. That heat caused a section of Highway 3 in Tecumseh to buckle.

Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara tweeted out a picture of the road conditions late Sunday afternoon. He said it was the third time this year that stretch had buckled under the heat.

As for the London area, muggy conditions are expected to continue Monday with a high of 30 C, feeling closer to 40 C with the humidex.

There’s also a 60 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and we could also see thunderstorms.

Temperatures for the rest of the week will be in the mid to high 20s, feeling warmer with the humidex.
