A Kitchener neurologist is scheduled for a hearing with the body that regulates Ontario’s medical profession over allegations he acted in a sexually inappropriate manner with his patients.
Dr. Jeffrey Scott Sloka, who is based out of Grand River Hospital, will appear before the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s disciplinary committee in 2019.
Two former patients accused him of inappropriate behavior in August 2017. While awaiting a hearing, which was to take place in April of this year, a third woman came forward.
The allegations include the inappropriate touching of breasts, inappropriate comments toward a patient and suggestions the doctor had his patients inadequately dressed or naked.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario has also placed restrictions on how Sloka can deal with his patients. Sloka isn’t allowed to do skin examinations, and cannot conduct any professional conduct examination unaccompanied.
Sloka also has privileges at St Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener and at Guelph General Hospital.
The Grand River Hospital said in a statement, “We respect the process of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and will act accordingly following decisions made with respect to their members that may impact hospital care.”
