Dilworth Drive between Omineca Place and Leckie Road in Kelowna will be closed for roadwork starting Monday, July 16.
Repairs are planned for the bridge on the busy two-lane road that crosses Mill Creek and on infrastructure work necessary for the new rail trail crossing.
The work needs to be scheduled at this time due to provincial regulations for fish bearing streams, according to the City of Kelowna.
The road at the base of Dilworth Mountain will be closed until Friday, Aug. 10.
The bridge work includes deck replacement, waterproofing and concrete abutment repairs.
Improvements being added to accommodate the rail trail include new pavement markings, pedestrian/cycle-activated signals and a new sidewalk.
Alternate routes around Dilworth include Glenmore Drive and Summit Drive and the city has asked residents, businesses and drivers for their patience during the project.
