London man charged after heavy equipment delivery truck hits church wall in Cambridge

A heavy equipment delivery truck collided with St. Andrew’s Hespeler Presbyterian Church in Cambridge on Monday afternoon.

Waterloo police say the driver of the truck failed to turn the emergency brake on and the truck rolled down a hill on Cooper Street,  through an intersection, before hitting a church wall. Police say the damage to the church was not extensive.

Police say the driver then moved the truck to the back of the church.

A 57-year-old London man has been charged with careless driving and failure to remain at the scene of a collision.
