Owen Sound police seize more than $30,000 worth of crystal meth

A 52-year-old man is facing several charges after police seized more than $30,000 worth of crystal meth, cash and other drugs, police say.

According to the Owen Sound police, on July 5 just before 4:30 p.m., detectives along with uniformed officers stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue East.

As a result, police say the suspect, who was a passenger in the vehicle was arrested. Police say a woman was also arrested.

According to police, over 330 grams of crystal meth, valued at over $30,000 was seized. Officers also seized $725 in cash and a small quantity of other drugs.

According to police, the suspect, 52-year-old Michael William Wallace, was arrested and has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of oxycodone and possession of ecstasy.

Police say Wallace appeared in court June 6 in Owen Sound for a bail hearing. The woman was released without charges.
