Man, woman facing attempted murder charges in Saint John stabbing

A man and woman have been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Saint John.

Police say they responded to the stabbing at Mecklenburg Street just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A 41-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck.

He was taken by ambulance to the Saint John Regional Hospital in serious condition.

A 26-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested.

The woman appeared in court Wednesday and was charged with attempted murder. The man is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday afternoon and is also facing a charge of attempted murder.

The major crime unit continues to investigate the incident.
