A 29-year-old motorcyclist is dead after his bike crashed on an off-ramp east of Hog’s Back Park in Ottawa late Thursday night, police say.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at 11:30 p.m. when the driver lost control of his motorcycle while travelling in the eastbound Heron Road off-ramp to go north on Bronson Avenue, a police spokesperson said Friday morning.
The motorcyclist “struck a couple of curbs and was thrown from his motorcycle,” a later statement from the Ottawa Police Service said.
Paramedics took the driver to hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly after arriving.
Police say they are investigating why the driver lost control and ask any person or witness with information to call collision investigators at 613-236-1222 ext. 2481.
