Police requesting public assistance in connection with fatal east-end Toronto stabbing

Toronto police is asking the for the public’s assistance in connection with a homicide investigation in the city’s east end.

Police responded to a call about a stabbing at 550 Kingston Road and Lee Avenue at 11:12 p.m. Friday night.

Officers found a man on the street suffering from obvious signs of trauma. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have identified him as 56-year-old William David Long of Toronto.

Homicide investigators believe he was allegedly attacked in the stairwell of the building.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Long at any point on Friday to contact police.
