An avalanche was caught on camera on Tuesday in France as workers tried to clear the road of snow from a previous avalanche.
The snow sped down a mountain in Tignes in the afternoon, around 4 p.m. local time, as workers were using equipment to clear a large amount of snow that had swept down the mountain earlier.
According to France 3, the workers were surprised by the second avalanche and video captures them fleeing the scene as a large amount of snow flows down the hill for several minutes.
The Daily Mail reports that after the previous avalanche blocked access to the road, measures were being put in place to secure access.
Yves Queffeulou, who works in snow clearing for the municipality of Tignes, said the avalanche was a surprise.
“No one expected so much snow at once,” Queffeulou told France 3.
It’s believed no one was injured in the incident and the snow was cleared off the road by midnight.
