Bet “cheetah” didn’t see that coming.
Wildlife photographer and safari tour leader Peter Heistein caught the moment when a cheetah jumped into the vehicle he was riding in.
The video, posted March 28 to the Grand Ruaha Safaris’ Instagram account, shows a cheetah grasping onto the back passenger seat’s head rest with its paws, as it surveys the surroundings.
A man can be seen sitting in front of the cheetah, murmuring to someone off camera and calmly not turning back to look at the wild animal.
According to Heistein’s related Instagram posting, the group touring Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park also had a visit from two other big cats. One cheetah hopped onto the car’s hood and the other observed the group through the windshield.
