Kelowna scores World Mixed Curling Championship

The World Mixed Curling Championship 2018 is coming to Kelowna next fall.

Kelowna Curling Club, in Kelowna, British Columbia will host the fourth edition of this open entry event from Saturday 13 October to Saturday 20 October 2018. In its first few years this event has attracted 37 of the World Curling Federation’s 60 Member Associations.

“We are delighted to take our World Mixed event across the Atlantic for the first time. This event is proving to be a first-class development tool for our established and emerging Member Associations,” World Curling Federation President Kate Caithness said.

With its 12 sheets the Kelowna Curling Club is one of the biggest clubs in Canada, along with Red Deer and Royal Caledonia in Regina.

Previously the 2002 World Junior and the 1986 World Women’s Curling Championships have been held in Kelowna.

The World Mixed Curling Championship 2018 takes place in October.
