The New Brunswick government is setting up a new centralized unit to help people seeking access to information about public bodies.
Treasury Board President Roger Melanson says the province is committed to fostering a culture of openness and transparency while strengthening the protection of public information.

The new Information Access and Privacy Services unit will be centralized within the Treasury Board.
Its mandate will be to provide overall leadership, strategic direction, policy and operational advice and support services to the government and other public bodies to help them comply with the access act.
