Winnipeg pair arrested in Kenora, charged with weapons offenses

A man and a woman from Winnipeg are in jail in Kenora pending bail hearings after being arrested in Ontario Friday.

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit said John Berry, 30, and Leanna Kaltenthaler, 32, were arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation.

The two were picked up in Kenora at around noon March 9.  OPP officers seized drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Both were charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking and weapons offenses.

Berry faces over a dozen charges in total, including driving while disqualified and breach of parole. He is to appear in Ontario court March 26.

Kaltenthaler was to attend a bail hearing March 14.
