Grandmother and her 2 grandchildren hit by car in Abbotsford

A grandmother and her two grandchildren have been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Abbotsford Monday morning.

She was walking with the two kids at 8:17 a.m. on Ridgeview Drive when they were struck by a Toyota Yaris, east of the intersection with Townline Road.

The grandchildren are ages two and five.

The grandmother and the five-year-old were taken to hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries.

The two-year-old was taken to hospital by B.C. Ambulance Service with minor injuries. They were released from hospital Monday afternoon.

Police say the five-year old child remains in hospital with a broken femur and under observation by medical practitioners. The grandmother remains in hospital in stable but serious condition.

Abbotsford police say the driver of the Toyota remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
