RCMP have laid charges against a man in connection with a string of vehicle thefts in the Cochrane and Calgary areas.
On Feb. 21, a man was arrested following a brief foot chase by RCMP officers in the Fisher Avenue area of Cochrane.
A later investigation led to “charges in more than six stolen vehicle reports in the past month,” police said in a news release Thursday.
Police allege the man was “actively stealing” two or three cars a day and he would look for running, unattended vehicles.

Tylane Hunter, 25, of Morley has been charged with the following:
- Five counts of theft of motor vehicle
- Other theft under $5000
- Theft/forgery/misuse of credit card
- Operation of motor vehicle while being pursued by police
- Resist/obstruct public officer
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Seven counts of fail to comply with conditions
Hunter is scheduled to appear in court in Cochrane on March 13.
