Vancouver police say one man was transported to hospital after a stabbing at Nanaimo SkyTrain station.
The incident allegedly took place around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police responded to a call of two men fighting at the station; when officers arrived they found one man with minor injuries.
Police say a man in his late 20s attempted to steal the other man’s phone and allegedly injured him using a knife. By the time police arrived the suspect had fled the scene.
The injured man, also in his 20s was transported to hospital and later released.
“Officers believe that this was a drug-related incident. They have identified the suspect and have requested a warrant for his arrest,” read an email from police.
Police say both men are from the Vancouver area.
The investigation is ongoing.
