Wyatt-Morris was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 42-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with a serious injury.

The accident happened right outside the home of Natasha Votary. The impact sent wreckage onto their property.

She says her 17-year-old son was outside playing ball hockey and witnessed the crash. “It was like he could feel the ground shake when the impact happened,” she says.

Her son saw the driver get out of the vehicle and confront police before he was arrested.

The road was closed in both directions and only re-opened around 4 a.m. Wednesday.

At this time, five investigators, four forensic investigators and one collision reconstructionist have been assigned to the incident.

The SIU is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
