Hamilton Police issue arrest warrant in Emerald Street shooting

Hamilton police have identified one of three suspects in a Central Hamilton shooting incident.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 19-year-old Donavan Hines, who police say is considered armed and dangerous.

Police were called to Barton and Emerald streets around 7:30 p.m. Monday, and found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

In a statement police said this is believed to be a “targeted” attack.

A gun has been recovered from the scene.

The victim is in hospital with what are considered non-life threatening injuries.
