Investigators travelled to Calgary where they arrested a 15-year-old youth. Police brought him back to Winnipeg and he’s been charged with first-degree murder. He is also being held in custody.

Ajak has ties to an African street gang in the city and was banned from having guns.

The shooting was followed by a police standoff at a Sherbrook Street residence. Police haven’t said whether Ajak was among the people at that house.
