Timeline: Canadian couple slain in Florida

TORONTO – A timeline of events in the mysterious murder of Toronto couple David Pichosky and Rochelle Wise while in Florida at their Hallandale Beach winter home.

January 8 – The couple visited a Walmart in Hallandale Beach, and were captured on security footage in the store.

January 9 at 8 a.m. – Police knew the couple to be alive at this time, as they chatted with a family member via FaceTime.

January 9 at 10:53 a.m.Security camera footage from a neighbour’s home showed an unidentified woman walking around the side of the couple’s home.

January 10 – The couple was supposed to meet a friend for lunch, but they never showed. A family member who hadn’t heard from the couple asked other neighbours to check on them, enlisting the help of the neighbour they were meant to meet for lunch, who had a spare key. Around suppertime, he went into the two-storey condo in the gated community to check, and found Wise and Pichosky dead inside.

January 14 – A funeral was held for the couple at Benjamin’s Park Memorial Chapel in Toronto.

March 6 – The victims’ family and friends appealed to the public during a press conference in Florida, hoping anyone with information will come forward. Police also said they are searching for “multiple culprits” and CrimeStoppers announced a $51,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

April 4 – Hallandale Beach police revealed that robbery may have been a motive in the double murder. After analyzing numerous items of evidence and cataloging property, it was discovered Rochelle Wise’s wedding band was missing.  Rochelle Wise’s ring is described as approximately size 6 1/2, platinum finish with five half carat white diamonds on the top of the ring in a half moon shape.  Police have asked that all pawn shop owners or jewellery exchange businesses review their inventory and notify police if they are in possession of this or a similar ring.

January 8, 2014 – Hallandale Beach police say evidence collected at the crime scene indicate at least two female suspects were involved in the the murder. Investigators also recovered an Adidas shoe footprint inside the couple’s condo. A sketch of one of the suspects caught on security video was also released to the public.  A reward for information leading any arrests was increased to $57,000 from $51,000. Meanwhile, the victims’ family and friends were at the press conference in Florida and are hoping anyone with information will come forward.
