Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership hopeful Caroline Mulroney was the first contender to come out swinging at Patrick Brown after the party brass gave Brown the green light to run for his old job as party leader.
Mulroney says that Brown should drop out of the race for the good of the party.
She went on to accuse Brown of using the leadership race to try to clear his tarnished image in the wake of the allegations of sexual misconduct that CTV News reported almost a month ago.
It remains to be seen if the other contenders will target Brown, although, it should be noted that there were some derogatory comments about Brown’s leadership during the first leadership debate last week, and that was before Brown was a candidate for the job he abandoned just a few weeks ago.
Mulroney is a newcomer to the political arena and the strategy of piling on the former leader is a questionable move.

Notwithstanding the political gong show that surrounds Brown these days, he still has some solid support in the party and alienating Brown and his supporters could backfire in a close leadership race.
Mulroney needs to remember that this leadership contest isn’t a marathon, but a sprint and one wrong step can be the difference between winning and losing.
