Coquitlam piano teacher released with conditions following sex assault charges

A Coquitlam piano teacher has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and RCMP are concerned more victims are out there. Jordan Armstrong reports – Feb 21, 2018

A Coquitlam piano teacher charged with three counts of sexual assault involving former students has been released from custody Wednesday.

Dmytro Kubyshkin has been released on conditions, including that he cannot teach piano to anyone unless they have been informed of the charges.

The charges involve students of Kubyshkin’s between 1998 to 2015 and police believe there may be more victims.

Kubyshkin, who is also known by the first name Dmitri, is believed to have been teaching in private homes for more than 20 years.

He is described as 67 years old, five foot 10 inches tall, 160 pounds with white/blond hair and a mustache. RCMP said he speaks with a Russian accent.

Anyone who might be the victim of a possible crime involving Kubyshkin, or knows a potential victim, is asked to contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550.
