RAYMOND, Alta. – RCMP in southern Alberta say a detailed investigation has led to charges against the parents of a toddler who died last year.
The 19-month-old died five days after being admitted to the Children’s Hospital in Calgary last March.
The child had been taken there after paramedics were called to a home in Raymond, Alta., and found the baby not breathing.
Investigators believe the toddler had become ill the previous month.
David Robert Stephan, 29 and his wife Collet Dawn Stephan, 32, have been charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life.
They are scheduled to appear in Lethbridge provincial court on May 23.
