Calgary police arrest man wanted for criminal harassment, assault

Calgary police have arrested a man wanted for a long list of offences, including criminal harassment and assault.

Police said in a news release on Dec. 12 that Austin McGlynn was wanted on 19 warrants connected to domestic offences.

The list of warrants included eight counts of failing to comply with a court order, three counts of failing to attend court two counts of assault and one count each of break and enter, assault with a weapon, choking with intent, criminal harassment, theft and property damage.

Police said that McGlynn was taken into custody on Monday morning.

Investigators said, for the protection of the victim, they won’t be releasing any further information.

They are encouraging any victims of abuse or domestic violence to reach out to police, or to contact one of several agencies in Calgary by calling 2-1-1 or the Connect Family and Sexual Abuse Network at 1-877-237-5888 (for sexual abuse) or 403-7233-7233 (for domestic abuse).

Domestic violence can be reported to police via the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
