A 25-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot by a Winnipeg police officer early Tuesday morning.
Police responded to a call at a residence in the 400 block of Charles Street just after midnight.

Officers say when they arrived on scene, they were confronted by the man.
The confrontation escalated and ended with the man being shot.
He was rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery.
The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) of Manitoba is now investigating.
