Man accused of murder in slaying of Kera Freeland appears in court

ORANGEVILLE, Ont. – The man accused of killing a 20-year-old Toronto woman appeared in court today in Orangeville.

Christopher Andronakos, 35, was brought back to Toronto from Calgary, where he was arrested.

He’s accused of murdering his former roommate, Kera Freeland, and then dumping her body in a ditch.

Freeland was last seen in Toronto on Jan. 16, 2011, and her body was discovered two months later in a ditch in Caledon, about 70 kilometres to the northwest.

Andronakos is charged with second-degree murder, and is back before a judge on Feb. 14.
