OPP seek public assistance identifying woman seen kicking dog in Thamesford park

Provincial police in Oxford County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman who they say was witnessed kicking a dog several times at a park in Thamesford, Ont. on Thursday.

Police say they were contacted by a member of the public around 2:38 p.m. that day for an animal complaint.

According to investigators, the resident had been driving by the park on Allen Street at the time and told police they observed a woman kicking a dog. Police attended the scene shortly after but the woman and animal could not be located, police said.

The woman is described as 5′ 6″, 110 pounds, with brown hair in a ponytail. Police say she was wearing a white shirt and track pants.

The dog is described as an approx. eight-month-old German Shepherd puppy.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent anonymously online.
