Penticton robbery suspect arrested

A Penticton woman has been arrested in connection with a gas station robbery in the south Okanagan city.

The robbery took place on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Husky gas station on Skaha Lake Road.

The entire robbery was recorded on surveillance video and posted on Facebook.

The video showed a woman in a pink sweatshirt approaching the cashier before unzipping her purse and pulling out an unknown item.

The video then appears to show her use the item to strike the counter and take a swipe at the clerk.

The footage also shows the suspect striking a computer screen several times, knocking it over.

Among the items stolen were several lottery tickets.

It’s not known what else was taken.

The 46-year-old woman was released from custody on a promise to appear in court in early 2018.

RCMP thanked the public for their tips and assisting them with identifying the robbery suspect.
