SASKATOON – The mayor will have another year to tout the city’ triple-A rating.
Standard and Poor’s reaffirmed its AAA/stable rating for Saskatoon after its yearly review of the city’s finances.
“S&P’s assessment confirms that we are providing great service to our citizens and doing it in a way that allows for future growth and planning,” said Mayor Don Atchison.
S&P continued to view the financial outlook as stable and stated it is confident cash flow and investments will increase to offset any rising debt.
The city has earned the triple-A rating every year for over a decade which allows the borrowing of money at lower rates.
