Truck found upside down in water in Antigonish County, N.S.

Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating how a vehicle ended up in the water Wednesday, as they wait for members of the Underwater Recovery Team to determine whether or not they are dealing with a fatality.

Officers received a call reporting a truck upside down in the water at the Havre Boucher wharf in Antigonish County around 11:47 a.m.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Victor Whalen says the water is too deep for officers to confirm whether or not there is an individual inside the submerged vehicle.

At this time, RCMP are not able to say how the truck ended up in the water.

Police are now waiting for the dive team to arrive on scene.

Whalen says the area is well lit and it’s expected divers will be in the water by 8 p.m. to commence their search.
