U.S. President Donald Trump was pictured dumping a box of fish food into a koi pond during an official trip to Japan, rather than judiciously doling out small amounts with the spoon that was handed to him.

Japan is the first stop on Trump’s 13-day trip to Asia where he will be visiting five countries including South Korea, China and the Philippines.

Photos of the incident appeared as if Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe maintained his composure and spooned the fish pellets, but video footage showed that Abe dumped his box of fish food into the pond first.

But Twitter was quick to jump on the perceived impatience of Trump, some even accusing Trump of trying to kill the fish by overfeeding them.

The koi pond is part of the Japanese state guest house garden in Akasaka palace in Tokyo. Feeding the fish is a traditional part of the welcoming ceremony for foreign dignitaries.
